With the series of Plexi Case boxes, Simona Cremascoli captures the contemporary beauty of methacrylate in an elegant little set of cylindrical boxes. The bottom of the Plexi Case boxes is produced from block-coloured solid methacrylate, which is crafted using numerically controlled machinery and polished by hand. The lid also stands out for its solidity with three-quarters made from transparent methacrylate and a quarter in methacrylate the same colour as the base; this creates an alluring half-moon design with shimmering tonal effects when the box revolves about itself. The Plexi Case comes in two shades: dark emerald green for the tall box and midnight blue for the small and the short box.
