Times
It is called Times like the famous font and has the same incisiveness and
straightforward style as a typographical project. This bed embodies the new
vision of Poltrona Frau. An
elegant lightness where nothing is superfluous and everything is natural. And
where every element seems to promote rest and relaxation. The headboard of the Times bed is an evocative combination of leather, wood and
fabrics of the customer’s choosing. The headboard structure, in solid ash, is a
pure meeting of lines, expertly designed to support the vertical strips of
Pelle Frau® leather. These, in turn, cross and divide the soft and generous
horizontal cushion. The effect is a calm balance of solids and voids. The Times bed is also the freedom to
change appearance with just a few quick moves. It is possible to change the
colour and material of the large headboard cushion cover, which can also be
purchased individually, choosing from Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. The
cushion is padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The footboard
of the Times bed is in poplar plywood and the sides in spruce blockboard, all
of which with light polyurethane foam padding and Pelle Frau® leather
upholstery. The feet are made from solid ash in a Moka stain.

Spalvieri & Del Ciotto |
Both born
in 1982, Simone Spalvieri and Valentina Del Ciotto met in 2003. Graduates in
Industrial and Interior Design respectively from Milan Polytechnic, they
immediately became a couple both in life and work. Spalvieri & Del Ciotto
design studio is a meeting place that brings together ideas, research and
experimentation. Their work, characterised by formal and functional purity, is
based on the idea that every design product must be a value to pass onto the
future generations, containing and celebrating a piece of our history and our
culture. They seek, through design, to humanise new materials and new
technologies with the goal of helping us to understand and use the most
innovative objects more easily. They collaborate with some of the most
interesting Italian and international design companies: Poltrona Frau, Magis,
Established&Sons, Lexon, Fratelli Guzzini, Arena Waterinstinct, Mamoli and
Colombo Design. In 2013 they were the winners of the “Top Young Italian
Industrial Designers Prize” and were rewarded by Massimo Vignelli with the Slow
Design Exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. They have won
international prizes like the Red Dot Award, the China Good Design and the
German Design Award.
