Nice
The table chair is the result of complex technical solutions, which bring quality and solidity to the design, and of harmonious proportions, as seen between the shell and the base of four slender metal legs that are inserted under the chair, making the seat visually lighter. Nice is designed for refined domestic and hospitality spaces with a modern taste that seek absolute comfort through a warm and welcoming product that is both generous and light.
A small table armchair with a strong presence
in the lunchroom. Nice, designed by GamFratesi, exhibits a compact volume, with
an organic and enveloping shape. The designer seat consists of the two cases of
the backrest and the shell that flex and overlap like two folded sheets,
ensuring comfort and support for the body. As they overlap, the two elements
create a void in the rear part of the backrest which becomes a recognisable
sign. The intimate welcome offered by Nice is emphasized by the sensual
softness of the upholstery in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. Both can also be
combined with the saddle-leather provided on the external part of the backrest;
upholstery whose tailored stitching, masterfully performed by Poltrona Frau's
artisans, emphasizes the external profile in a strong silhouette.

GamFratesi |
Stine
Gam, Danish architect with a master in furniture design. Enrico Fratesi Italian
architect graduated with a master in industrial design. Gam and Fratesi gained
experience as architects in architecture studio in Japan and Scandinavia before
establishing their own design studio.
The studio is based in
Copenhagen. GamFratesi’s design takes its creative drive from a fusion of
tradition and renewal and in an experimental approach to their chosen materials
and techniques. With their dual traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico
Fratesi draw on the classic Danish furniture and craft tradition as well as the
classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition
and addressing it actively in the workshop makes it possible to expand on it.
From this cross-cultural substrate they create furniture that respectfully
reflects tradition while also featuring unique embedded stories, symbols and
associations, often expressed in a minimalist idiom. GamFratesi have received
significant awards including Finn Juhl Prize 2015, Elle Decoration International
design award (EDIDA) as International Young Designer of the Year 2013,
Wallpaper* Design Award as Best interior 2017, Best Designer 2015 by BoBedre,
Best Designer 2009 by RUM, Invited as Guest of Honor at the Stockholm Furniture
Fair 2014. With their products GamFratesi received final selection Compasso
D’Oro, IF Award, German Design Awards and Good Design Awards. |
