Mesa Due
Poltrona Frau has
carried out an interesting philological work on the Mesa project: on the basis
of a number of original designs by Lella
and Massimo Vignelli, two new versions of the original table were
produced: Mesa and Mesa Due. Due - two - like its simple geometric shapes, a
circle and a cone, combined together to form a table bursting with personality
and style. The Mesa table model
with diameter of 135 cm, slate top and load bearing column in pietra serena, is
joined by new sizes that offer a greater variety of possible uses: the Mesa Due model comes as a dining
table with diameter of 150 cm and a bistrot side table with diameter of 120 cm.
The table top is in MDF with a wenge- or moka-stained cut ash wood veneer, or
upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather. The base of Mesa Due can be in grey pietra
serena, in steel with Cuoio Saddle Extra leather upholstery with contrast
stitching, or in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System with tone-on-tone
stitching. The steel base remains stable thanks to a special system of internal
counterweights and has a plastic shaped tip at the bottom to protect the floor.
The joint between the top and the column is made of ‘nero bruno’ painted
tubular steel to which a three-bracket joint plate is attached with adjustable
supports to keep the surface level.
The Mesa Due tables with leather and saddle-leather column can come with a
hideaway electric socket tower, chosen and requested by the customer during the
purchasing phase.
