Essay™ is an exclusive table series in solid wood,
created by Danish designer Cecilie Manz. The table consists of three elements -
a tabletop and two bases - crafted in a simple, natural form. With its elegant
look and flexible functionality, the table serves as the ideal gathering point
in contemporary spaces. The CM27 comfortably accommodates eight chairs and can
be extended with the CM100 extension leaves to sit up to ten.

Cecilie Manz was born in the Odsherred region of Denmark. She chose design as her living when she began studying at the Danish School of Design in 1992. Her great interest for function and conceptualization took her further as an exchange student to Helsinki where she attended the Finnish University of Art and Design. In 1998, she started her own studio, Manz Lab, the centre of her work ever since. Cecilie Manz strong feeling for functionality and insistence on quality made her an obvious choice for Fritz Hansen. Already, Cecilie Manz has exhibited all over the world and is permanently represented in the exhibitions of MoMA and the Danish Design Centre. She has been awarded several significant prizes for her conceptual design. |
