Oxford
Capitonné processing for
an office chair designed for people who love classical and traditional lines.
Designed by Poltrona Frau R. &
D., the Oxford chair takes
its inspiration from the prestigious English office chairs of the early 20th
century. Rotating, height-adjustable with gas springs and reclining with
intermediate settings, the Oxford President and Executive versions have a
five-spoke base in American sweet gum with a medium walnut stain or in
aluminium, either painted with black epoxy powder or polished. It swivels 360°
and the seat height is adjustable, as is the oscillation and inclination of the
backrest with intermediate settings. The structure of the Oxford chairs is made
of seasoned beechwood with Pelle Frau® leather upholstery, enriched on the
inside surface with fine capitonné work. The Visitor version has a four-legged
base in American sweet gum with a medium walnut stain.

Poltrona
Frau, Second half of the 60. In the second half of the 1960s, Poltrona Frau
created an internal structure to manage research and development. Whilst
preserving the know-how of expert craftsmanship, the Centre for Research and
Development experiments with new material, new building techniques and creates
new forms.
The highly specialised
design technicians that make up the group benefit from a superbly equipped
prototype laboratory, where they can give form to new ideas. Products and raw
material are tested in the Analysis and Experimentation Laboratory, a very
efficient structure for the fine-tuning of high-quality products conforming
international norms. |
